As we approach the end of October, we find ourselves both celebrating the richness of Latino Heritage Month and preparing for the upcoming holiday season. At NS Counseling and Wellness Services, we take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our Latina employees who have contributed significantly to our mission. This month, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to:
Nicole Serrano, LMFT
Sandra Monge, ACSW
Anita Lerma, Wellness Coach
Sandra Acevedo, Admin Support
Josefina Sierra, LCSW
Their dedication and expertise have played a pivotal role in supporting our clients and ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors receives the best possible care. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work and the positive impact they have on our community.
Join us in our annual Dia De Los Muertos Grief Honoring and Self Care with Sound Healing group coming up! Contact Anita or Nicole to sign up. We may be opening more time groups depending on interest.
With the holiday season just around the corner, we understand that this time of year can bring a mixture of emotions for many. While it can be a time of joy and celebration, it can also be a challenging period for some individuals. Holiday-related stress, family dynamics, and other triggers can make this season especially difficult. Please remember that we are here to support you throughout this time.
Here are some tips on setting healthy boundaries with family during the holidays:
Communicate Your Needs: Open and honest communication with your family is key. Let them know what you're comfortable with and what you're not. Sharing your boundaries can help manage expectations.
Plan Ahead: Create a plan for the holidays that includes self-care activities and time for yourself. Stick to your plan and prioritize your well-being.
Practice Self-Compassion: Remember to be kind to yourself. It's okay to take breaks and step away from stressful situations if needed.
Delegate Responsibilities: You don't have to do everything yourself. Share the holiday responsibilities with family members, so the burden doesn't fall solely on your shoulders.
Seek Support: Reach out to a therapist or counselor if you need someone to talk to during this time. Our team at NS Counseling and Wellness Services is here for you.
Remember that you are not alone in your feelings, and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Your mental and emotional well-being is important to us, and we are committed to providing the care and guidance you need.
